EDUCATION MenU

The Workshop:

Bechdel Project Founding Artists will lead your students and faculty through their unique mix of interactive exercises. Participants leave with a new awareness as well as feeling empowered to make a change in their world. Past participants have called it "Life-changing" and "Inspirational."

3 Day Residency:

The 3-day residency builds on the exercises in the 1-day residency and quickly moves into writing short Bechdel passing works. Day 2 is spent on new work and rewrites, and on Day 3 those pieces are presented in a staged reading. "One of the most amazing things I have ever experienced."

1 Week Residency:

Our most intensive residency. Three sessions per day consisting of a morning writing block, afternoons built around Bechdel Project’s unique physical practice and ensemble building exercises, followed by evening writing, devising, or rehearsals. The week culminates with a performance of the student’s work. Suitable for up to 18 highly motivated participants.

6 Week Residency:

A complete immersion into female narratives written and performed by your students. While the 3-day Residency is a quick sketch, our 6-week Residency allows for a deeper unpacking and exploration of women’s stories. Students write pieces that are then staged as a bare bones mini festival or combined into a company devised work.

Corporate:

Fortune 500's to Start-ups are learning that the story of their corporate culture impacts their brand and their bottom line. Bechdel Project's equity, diversity, and inclusion programming goes beyond lectures, power-points, and role-plays to rearrange the molecules of organizations.
